Reimagining an independent Porsche specialist.
RPM Technik is one of the UK’s leading independent Porsche Specialists. After 15 years of their previous branding they needed a brand that reflected their current positioning and service offering. By working closely with the RPM team, we developed a brand that will push the business forward into the next 15 years and beyond.
Creating a new marque.
As always, each branding project starts with a discovery session to understand the goals of the business, the target audience and to gather a series of brand attributes. The rebrand itself included a new logo, marque, signage, brand collateral, adverts and apparel. Effective design decisions, such as the sweeping track icon in the logo suggest a race track feel – something that Porsche’s feel very much at home on, which enabled us to move away from the stereotypical rev counter imagery that RPM and many other companies are associated with.
Developing the company mantra.
Producing a clear and precise statement was a big part of defining RPM’s positioning. By combining the key elements of expertise and collaboration with the enhanced enjoyment each customer receives, the company mantra of ‘Engineering Exhilaration’ was created. Engineering Exhilaration is a short phrase that encompasses every part of RPM, explaining what is they do and why they do it.
Rolling out the new brand.
A set of brand guidelines was created in the style of a high-end motoring magazine – something that would look great sat on a coffee table within their showroom. We created many brand assets for the new brand launch, including printed collateral, merchandise such as keyrings and tshirts and organised a photoshoot to help bolster a library of high resolution photography that can be used across print and digital media moving forward.
The rebrand has proven to be a huge success, with RPM Technik’s popularity and recognisability growing week after week. The brand release is part of a wider campaign of social media, podcasts and weekly videos showcasing various aspects of the business. We are now in the planning stage of developing a new website, to simplify the user experience and help boost online traffic even further.
